EONI is very pleased to announce major changes to our wireless Internet access plans. Effective November 1, 2011, our wireless plans will change in terms of access speeds and pricing. In short, EONI customers will see faster access plans and in many cases, lower pricing. Further, EONI now offers even faster Internet access plans, with new Gold and Platinum wireless plans offering a maximum download speed of up to 15 Megabits per second. Finally, we have changed our data transfer structure so that there are no overage charges. Data transfer is now governed by a Fair Use Policy (FUP).
Over the past year, EONI has been dedicated to enhancing our broadband network, including deploying new access points that introduce the newest technologies we can deploy. Our work is not done, but we feel that now is the time to make significant changes in our wireless plans to offer you the fastest, most reliable and best value for Internet access available. Our efforts to enhance and improve our network will be continuous. Not every location that we serve can get the fastest speeds we would like to offer. For some customers, we may need to change equipment at their location to provide higher speeds. At some locations, due to technical limitations in today’s technology, faster speeds may not be achievable. That does not mean today’s limits will stop us from looking for future solutions to overcome those limitations! It may take some further time to be able to offer every plan in every location we service but we are working hard to make that happen.
For a great many of our wireless customers, these changes will make their Internet experience much better. Faster Internet access generally makes for a more enjoyable experience, no matter how you use the Internet. Many customers will realize a significant cost savings, as our prices have decreased for our most common service plans. Faster plans than we have ever offered before are now available, and we feel the value component to these plans is very high. Service plans start at $29.95 per month for our Bronze service, which has a download speed of up to 1 megabits per second and an upload speed of up to 256 kilobits per second, and our new Platinum plan has speeds up to 15 megabits per second for downloads and up to 2 megabits per second for uploads. Silver and Gold plans provide download speeds of up to 5 and 10 megabits per second respectively. Some of our wireless plans are faster and less expensive than available via wire-line DSL services. EONI has made some important changes to policies that govern our services. Such changes are detailed in on our Policies web page and include changes to our Terms and Conditions, the Supplemental Agreement For Wireless Users, and we have established a new Fair Use Policy. These changes take effect November 1, 2011. Our customers should review these policies and familiarize themselves with these policies from time to time. Existing customers will have their prior wireless plan converted to one of our new plans that most closely matches their prior plan.
