This document provides some guidance on what EONI wireless plan you should consider choosing. The information here is considered a rough guide and may not take into consideration all the issues affecting the applications you want to run, how many computers you want connected to the Internet at one time, any other local or network issues that may affect your connection, and other factors. The “Limitation Of Liability And Warranty” statement in the EONI Terms and Conditions applies to the comments below. The EONI Terms and Conditions are available on the EONI web site at www.eoni.com/legal.
Bronze Plan. Up to 1 megabit per second download speed and up to 256 kilobits per second upload speed. This is our basic, or entry level plan. It is a good plan for people who simply browse the Web, do some shopping on the Internet, participate in social networking sites such as Facebook or Twitter, check their email and send a few pictures via their email or on social networking sites. It may work for some basic online gaming, but is not recommended for intense gaming whether PC or game console (Xbox, Playstation, etc.) based. Also, watching videos online (Netflix, YouTube and others) is not likely to work well on this plan.
Silver Plan. Up to 5 megabits per second download speed and up to 1 megabit per second upload speed. This plan works really well for many people who want to use the Internet for a variety of purposes, including the applications described for the Bronze Plan above, but also for online gaming, watching videos, and other multimedia applications. There are some considerations here. The download speed is up to 5 megabits per second. That does not mean that your maximum speed will be 5 megabits per second nor does it mean that if you sometimes get 5 megabits per second that you will always get 5 megabits per second. Your speed can vary due to many issues. However, generally speaking this plan is much faster than the Bronze Plan and should work well for the applications described.
Gold Plan. Up to 10 megabits per second download speed and up to 2 megabits per second upload speed. This is a great plan for any of the applications noted above in the Bronze and Silver Plans, plus if you have a network of several computers, this allows adequate bandwidth for several people to access the Internet at the same time and run their applications. Small businesses with up to 5 computers simultaneously accessing the Internet should do well on this plan. Please note that if everyone tries to access a bandwidth intensive application, especially video streaming sites, at the same time, performance may suffer! Also, if you have very big files that you need to upload or download on a regular basis, this plan may be a good choice for you even if you only have one computer on the Internet at one time.
Platinum Plan. Up to 15 megabits per second download speed and up to 2 megabits per second upload speed. This is our fastest plan. This plan is generally chosen by one of three users: first, the technically oriented user who simply has to have the fastest plan; second, by a user who has very large files they need to upload or download on a regular basis, most likely as a component of their work; and third, this plan gets chosen by a small business who has multiple users on the network at any one time. If you are considering this plan and have to ask why you need it, you probably don’t!
Please note: all speeds listed are the maximum possible speeds and your actual connection speed may be different. Speeds may vary depending on a number of factors and speeds are not guaranteed. Applications running on your computer and/or on your network may impact the actual speed you get on your computer or Internet connected device.
